The INTFC light conveys interface status and activities for ALL the interfaces.

The blanking indicates always indicates activity.

The red color indicates something has gone wrong with one of the interfaces. This could be anything from the interface losing sync to the FIFO overflowed.

You must look at the admin/host port status messages to see exactly what and where the error is coming from.
